ITINERARY 15 NIGHTS/ 16 DAYS

NJP RAILWAY STATION / (IXB) BAGDOGRA AIRPORT – GANGTOK (03 NIGHT) – LACHUNG (02 NIGHT) - YUMTHANG - GANGTOK (01 NIGHT) – PELLING (02 NIGHT) – YUKSOM (02 NIGHT) – KALIMPONG (02 NIGHT) - DARJEELING (03 NIGHT) - NJP RAILWAY STATION

DAY 01   ARRIVAL NJP RAILWAY STATION / (IXB) BAGDOGRA AIRPORT - GANGTOK

On arrival at NJP Railway Station / (IXB) Bagdogra Airport, (500Ft / 150Mts) will be met by our office Executive who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok (5500 Ft /1677 Mts / 130 Kms / 04 Hrs). Check in and over night at Hotel. 

DAY 02   GANGTOK

Go for a full day sightseeing covering Rumtek Monastery, Jhakri Water Falls, Droul Chorthen, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom, Flower Show. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 03   GANGTOK

After breakfast, in the morning, start for excursion to Tshangu Lake - situated at a height of 12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms in 3Hrs one way, with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Back to Gangtok and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 04   GANGTOK - LACHUNG

Pick from Gangtok Hotel and transfer to Lachung (8000 Ft / 2439 Mts / 124 Kms / 05 ½ hours). On the way visit Tashi view point, Kabi Longtsok, Seven sister’s water fall Singhik view point, Lunch on route and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 05   LACHUNG - YUMTHANG - LACHUNG

Early morning proceed on a half day excursion to Yumthang Valley (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1 ½ hours one way). On the way visit the Hot Spring and Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 06   LACHUNG - GANGTOK

Transfer to Gangtok. On the way, see Bhim Nala water fall & Twin water fall. Overnight at Hotel

Day 07   GANGTOK - PELLING

After breakfast we drive to Pemayangtse (6100 Ft / 1860 Mts /116 Kms / 05 Hrs) via Ravangla. Check in Overnight stay at Hotel.

DAY 08   PELLING 

Go for leisure walking tour covers the three famous landmarks- Rabdantse Palace, Pemayangtse Monastery & Sangachoeling. Early morning walk of 30 minutes will reach you to Sangachoeling Monastery - second oldest in Sikkim. In past on this trail few of the bird watcher have sighted exotic Himalayan variety. Return to the hotel for break fast. Then you head to the Rabdantse Palace- once the second capital of Sikkim is now a historical monument. On the way back you head for Pemayangtse Monastery. The Pemayangtse Monastery belongs to the Nyingma-pa order of Tibetan Buddhism. It was built as a small temple in late 17^th century by Latsun Chenpo. On the top floor there is a wooden sculpture portraying the Mahaguru’s Heavenly palace Sangthokpalri. Further. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 09   PELLING - YUKSOM

After breakfast we drive to Yuksom (35 Kms / 02 Hrs)on way visit Darap village, Rimbi water fall, Rimbi Hydro Project & Kechopari Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts), it is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lake and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface is picked by a bird , Kanchendzonga Water falls. A further drive takes you to Yuksom (5840 Ft / 1780 Mts), (the meeting place of three monks) - the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned.  Overnight at Hotel

DAY10    YUKSOM

Early morning 35 minutes moderate walk to Dubdi Monastery (built in 1700 AD, the oldest monastery of Sikkim) and Tashi Namgyal (the stone throne for the first king). Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 11   YUKSOM - KALIMPONG

After breakfast today transfer to Kalimpong (3937 Ft / 1200 Mts, 110 Kms / 04 Hrs). Check in at Hotel. Evening free to visit the local market and Over Night at Hotel.

DAY 12   KALIMPONG

Here you do the sightseeing of Dello hills, Dr. Graham’s Home, Flower Nurseries, Nature Interpretation Center and Durbin Dara Hills & Jang – Dong - Palriffo Brang. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 13   KALIMPONG - DARJEELING

Transfer to Darjeeling (7380 Ft / 2250 Mts, 70 Kms / 03 Hrs). Check in and Overnight at Hotel. Optional River Rafting on the way to Darjeeling.

DAY 14   DARJEELING

Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast go for a half-day sight seeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park  & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday),  Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & Tea Estate. Afternoon visit to Rock Garden & Ganga Maya Lake. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 15   DARJEELING

After breakfast transfer to Mirik (5800 Ft / 1768 Mts, 50 Kms / 02 Hrs one way). Full day excursion of Pashupati Nagar (Indo-Nepal border) for shopping & Mirik Lake (Horse riding & Boat is available around the lake on direct payment basis). Evening back to Darjeeling and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 16   DARJEELING - NJP RAILWAY STATION / (IXB) BAGDOGRA AIRPORT

Transfer to NJP Railway Station / (IXB)  Bagdogra Airport, (100 Kms / 3 Hrs) for onwards connection.

Please note as per the Government Rule in 01 Tata Sumo / Hard Top Jeep only 08 heads are allowed that is including child. Incase the number of heads traveling increases above 08, than the guest will have to opt for the 2^nd (second) vehicle.

Incase the guest is opting for INNOVA as per the unwritten syndicate rule of our area it will be used for main transfer for all destination and sightseeing of Kalimpong & Darjeeling. In certain areas INNOVA are not available & due to non availability / limited availability (during the peak season), as a substitute we will be providing Tavera / Qualis / Scorpio / Tata Sumo / Mahindra Maxx which could be having front / side facing seat. However for Gangtok sightseeing, as per the unwritten syndicate rule, the guest will be provided 01 Wagon R / Alto / Indica on every 04 heads. 

TERMS & CONDITIONS (INCLUSION) COMMON TO PACKAGES 

HOTELS USED IN THE PACKAGES

The Cost Includes:-

• Meet & Greet upon arrival.

• Hotel Accommodation as per the name mentioned in the Category for duration as mentioned in the itinerary.

• Hotel Meal Plan –

• For GRADE B, C & D on BB (Bed & Breakfast) Basis.

• For GRADE A on MAP (Breakfast & Dinner) Basis.

• For GRADE A1+ & A2+ on AP (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) Basis

• Accommodation for Lachung & Lachen is on AP (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) Basis for all categories.

• All applicable Transfers & Sightseeing by NON AC vehicle which will not be at disposal and will be exclusively used for the group as per the itinerary only (on point to point basis).  It will change sector wise.

o   For 02 – 03 Pax  - Transfer by 01 Maruti Van & Sightseeing by 01 Maruti Van / Similar

o   For 04 – 05 Pax  - Transfer by 01 Tata Sumo / Mahindra Maxx & Gangtok Local Sightseeing by 02 Maruti Van / Similar

o   For 06 – 08 Pax  - Transfer by 01 Tata Sumo / Mahindra Maxx & Gangtok Local Sightseeing by 02 Maruti Van / Similar

o   For Lachung & Pelling all Transfer & Sightseeing will be done by Tata Sumo / Mahindra Maxx for all categories & sizes.

The Cost Does Not Include:-

• Government Service Tax as applicable (as on date 1/03/2009 it is 2.58%)

• Cost for optional Tours, Up-gradation Charges, Sightseeing entry fee & Guide charges.

• Cost for service not mentioned under the “Cost Includes” Head

• Cost for Airfare, Train fare, Insurance Premiums, Rafting Charges, Joy Train Ride etc.

• Payment for service provided on a personal request basis

• Personal expenses such as laundry, soft drinks, bottles water, incidentals, porter  charges, tips etc

• Expenses incurred due to change in oil price, mishaps, landslide, strikes, political unrest etc.

• In such case extra will be charged as per actual which will be collected from the guest directly.

The Child Policy:-

The following points are to be noted for Child Rate:

o   Children above 10+ years will be charged 100% as per Adult Rate (EPSR)

o   Children of 5+ to 10 sharing parent’s room will be charged as per CWB or CNB

o   Children below 5 years Complimentary.

(Hotels are very strict with the child policy. Please carry the age proof so that it can be produced when asked for)

Few Words on Operations:-

Note on Hotel used in the Packages:

• We have star category hotels in our area which is not to be compared with the Hotels of other developed destinations.  For the understanding we have termed 

• ‘The Area’s Best Hotels’ as GRADE A2+, A1+ & A, whose services are similar to Three Star Hotels. 

• ‘The Area’s Second Best Hotel’ as GRADE B, whose services are similar to Two Star Hotels.

• The Area’s Third Best Hotel’ as GRADE C, whose services are similar to One Star Hotels.

• The  Area’s Fourth Best Hotel as GRADE D, whose services are similar to Budget & Tourist Class Hotels.

• Check-in time at Hotel is 1400 Hrs & Check-out time is 1100 Hrs.

• We have selected, combined & graded the hotels in a fashion, so that the clients get similar kind of standard in services & facilities at every destination / place of retirement.

• As the area is backward it is quite obvious that the constructions of the hotels are unplanned. This further means that almost all the good hotels are in the city centers. These hotels may have the view of the building in the front, beside or behind them. As the services are under mark in the area and as mentioned above, we have made our hotel selection on the basis of SERVICES provided.

• For Extra Person Sharing the Room & Child with Extra Bed, almost all the hotel of our area provides MATTRESS and ROLL OVERS as a supplement to Extra Bed.

• In our area almost all the hotels do not have lift, so the guest have to climb stairs to reach their rooms. Incase the guest/s have problems with blood pressure, breathing, knee & heart  or if they cannot climb the higher floors, we will request you to report this problem immediately so that we are careful in assigning Hotels which will be more convenient than the ones quoted/reserved for them.

• In a hilly area scarcity of water & electricity is a natural phenomenon. Everybody buys water for their day-to-day needs & have learnt to live even without electricity. In case of Load Shading, please advice the guest/s to bear with such situation. To overcome the water crisis certain hotels have fixed schedule for supplying hot & cold water.

• Hotel in C & D Category have system of providing room heater on request & extra payment. This payment is not included in the cost & the user has to settle it directly with the hotels before check-out. The charge varies from INR 150.00 to INR 200.00 per room per night.

Note on Transportation used in the Packages:

• The vehicle used will not be at disposal and will be exclusively used for the group as per the itinerary only (on point to point basis).  It will change sector wise.

• As the vehicles & drivers change always we request you to inform the guest to be very careful with personal belongings. Once left in the vehicle there is very little chance of you getting them back.

• As the area is backward & due to unwritten syndicate rules your drivers will change for every transfer & sightseeing. These drivers come from remote places and are not educated in tourism etiquette and some of them do not know how to speak & behave. Often in past guests have been misguided by such drivers. We would request you to inform the guest not to listen to such people & reconfirm whatever they say with your File Handling Executive (FHE).

• Certain sightseeing is totally controlled by the syndicate and we do not have any say over such services. We will request you to inform the guest to bear with uncalculated situations. Their FHE will guide you on such services e.g. Tshangu Lake, Nathula, packages to North Sikkim. Especially while using such services they have to be gentle in dealing with the drivers as due to lack of their exposure to the tourism industry & practices they sometimes tend to get annoyed and may misbehave.

• Due to shortage of space for parking please inform the guest that they will have to be ready on time & wait in the lobby. Due to uncalculated situations the vehicle reporting may get delayed. We will request the guest to bear with us and as soon as vehicle comes it will pick them up in few seconds time before the policeman blow his whistle.

• Due to vehicle-parking difficulty in the whole area, most of the areas are restricted to entry of vehicle & specific time is allotted for entries. Kindly request the guests to follow the time strictly as given to them. Incase of delays the vehicle will have to leave the hotel area without the guest & get parked in a parking area. In such a case, the guest will have to be transferred in a Maruti Van FOR WHICH THE COST WILL HAVE TO BE BORNE BY THE GUEST & WILL BE COLLECTED DIRECTLY.

• Due to specified time for entry many of times your connecting destination vehicle may not be allowed to enter the town / hotel area. Under such circumstances you will be transferred to the hotel in Maruti Vans for which the driver of your connecting vehicle will make the payment.

• OFF BEAT CIRCUITS “SOUND OF SILENCE” - The Vehicle provided on the above Itinerary will be on Disposable (Tata Sumo / Similar Thought for all brackets 2 to 08 pax). Here the local sightseeing of Gangtok, Tshangu, and Pelling Sightseeing will be done by the local vehicle of that area.

• Incase the guest is opting for INNOVA as per the unwritten syndicate rule of our area it will be used for main transfer for all destination and sightseeing of Kalimpong & Darjeeling. In certain areas INNOVA are not available & due to non availability / limited availability (during the peak season), as a substitute we will be providing Tavera / Qualis / Scorpio / Tata Sumo / Mahindra Maxx which could be having front / side facing seat. • As per Motor Vehicle Act capacity of an INNOVA is 07 pax including Adult or Child. Also while opting for INNOVA please inform the guest to travel light with minimum baggage of one piece per person.
